Testimonials

Josh

KPMG

Becoming aware of just how hard I am on myself and the impact it has on my relationships and abilities to work professionally -- the greatest thing I learned from this program is to be kinder to myself.

This program would be very impactful for a team who works intimately together to better understand each other’s strengths and weakness’ and will ultimately help with conflict resolution once a better understanding is shared of each other’s strengths and weaknesses.

Sara

Social Impact Entrepreneur & Strategist

With lawyer-like insistence, Laura helps me engage my patterns - asking questions that provoke new ways of thinking. Laura has provided me with the tools and opportunity to practice what will be a life-long practice, but with the delight, humor, patience, appreciation, and grateful muscles getting stronger all the time. Today, 90% of the time I notice when my "buttons are being pushed". I recognize why, and I have ways to work through the problem and experience the gifts that life offers.

Lisa

financial advisor

Whether metaphor, Positive Intelligence, Adlerisms, common sense, cosmology or your own past words, Laura zero’s in on what is most poignant and relevant.

Now when I am coming from a place of fear, irritation or doubt, I pause instead of rushing headfirst into the dark. I know now that I can and will regroup and when I bring my sage self to the fore, outcomes will be better. I now know that if I do what I need to do to stay healthy, happy and balanced those I love and work with are better off, our relationships are better and life is good. It’s amazing, its like a twofer. I judge self and others less often and less harshly. I call upon my sage powers even when I’d prefer to wallow in a fetal position for the rest of the day.

PHILOSOPHY

Arise is a coaching practice that believes in the power of the individual. Each person knows themselves and their situation best. And, they have the wisdom that they need within them to reach the goals and personal success that they seek. At Arise, we help clients to access that wisdom through a process of reflection, support, encouragement, goal setting and accountability. Through the tools of Positive Intelligence and Adlerian psychology, clients find the clarity they seek through courageous self reflection, neurobiological exercise and the acquisition of skills to understand their behavior and wisely and positively reframe the challenges life presents.

Parent and educator coaching at Arise combines personal/leadership coaching with skills developed out of the separate works of Alfred Adler and Shirzad Shamin. Adler taught that everyone, at their core, seeks belonging and meaningful contribution. Parents and teachers, as the creators of the first communities a child encounters, set the stage for adulthood by shaping a child’s understanding of their place in the larger world and how the “rules” of that world work. Arise supports parents and educators in creating the foundation and environment that fosters the development of independent, resilient, respectful, contributing, and capable children. Shirzad Shamin, the creator of Positive Intelligence, created a practical and effective system for self-regulation and choice clarification grounded in positive and cognitive psychology, neurobiology and performance science. His work is based on the belief that everyone can address the challenges they encounter from a space and perspective of positivity that results in higher effectiveness with less stress, and improved relationships, performance and quality of life. Given that they have the most demanding and consequential of jobs, Arise supports parents and educators in developing their inner resources, increasing their capacity for patience, creativity, curiosity and focused, purposeful action, and enhancing their resilience and feelings of well-being. Believing that the best interest of children is served through their successful partnership, Arise further supports parents and educators with programs and trainings that foster collaboration between them.
